Letter from Company President & CEO, April 2, 2020
Dear Fellow Employee,
Thank you for your commitment to F. M. Howell & Company. This is an exceptionally tough time; and it will be defined as an unprecedented period in the history of our country. I am extremely appreciative and proud of the efforts that our employees have put forth in the last month to service our customers.
An inspirational leader reminds us that, "Crisis reveals character." Our employees have stepped up, and they remind me that they have the character and discipline required to work through this challenge. Their work ethic is exceptional.
Our Pandemic Preparedness Team is meeting every few days to further plan what will be required to keep our employees safe, as well as ship our customers' orders on time during this Coronavirus pandemic.
I want to thank each and every one of you for rising to the occasion and showing your strength and determination to "get the job done."
We may not be on the front line in the effort to fight this pandemic. However, we have been defined as an "essential business," as we are a critical part of the supply chain providing pharmaceutical, medical device, and diagnostic packaging and services to those companies and individuals in need.
Specifically, we provide packaging to our medical device customer who provides a "point-of-care test" for Coronavirus and has just received emergency-use authorization by the FDA. Secondly, we manufacture packaging for a medical device customer that is a leader in the industry supplying temperature thermometers. Thirdly, we manufacture prescription drug packaging that is needed on a monthly or daily basis to the individuals in our communities. And, the list goes on.
The purpose of my letter is a simple "Thank You" and the acknowledgement that we are part of the solution. We will prevail.
I am extremely proud to work with such an exceptional group of individuals.
Sincerely,
F. M. HOWELL & COMPANY

Joe Lally, Sales Manager - Pharmaceutical Packaging commented, "The trends in the industry indicate that relabeling jobs are on the rise. Either due to increased regulatory pressure from the FDA, increase in recalls, or because more products are being shipped to the U.S. from Europe or Asia, we have seen more requests to both label and relabel healthcare products."
