Online Ordering System For Sales Reps
A pharmaceutical customer needed assistance to improve the process by which their Sales Reps ordered pharmaceutical samples, promotional literature, and premiums. The process in use was cumbersome, slow, and inaccurate.
HMS offered their online ordering portal which allows Sales Reps the ability to order pharmaceutical samples and promotional items 24/7. An electronic catalog, illustrating every item, was created to improve the accuracy of the orders. This same catalog includes current available inventory. The electronic process includes strict rules and, when required, an approval process, as well as several delivery options. HMS receives electronic orders and ships them the next day.

Currently, the link resides in an e-mail or is provided verbally to the physician who requests samples. NEXT STEP: HMS will provide a link to be added to the pharmaceutical customer's website. The customer will drive physicians to their website by adding the link to their existing electronic and print advertising.

Sample process design: HMS partnered with the customer to assess their existing pharmaceutical sample fulfillment process. We identified several key areas to improve the sample process performance. HMS has significant experience in all aspects of sample fulfillment.
Real-time information systems: The new sample fulfillment process was enabled by the HMS real-time end-to-end information systems. These included web-based ordering, order processing, pick-pack-ship, real-time reporting, acknowledgement processing (AOD and AOC), and returns management.
